Job Title: Plant Manager

ImageFIRST Healthcare Laundry Specialists is seeking a highly skilled Plant Manager to join our team in Kansas City, MO. As a key member of our healthcare services team, you will be responsible for managing the overall production activities of the plant, ensuring a consistent production volume that meets the market's demands and quality standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Formulate, implement, and supervise processes, product quality, and production improvement methodologies.
  • Work closely with senior staff to develop and formulate long and short-range goals and objectives.
  • Plan, budget, and monitor the plant's production activities, formulating and recommending process improvements to maintain and improve the organization's competitive position in the market.
  • Manage spending against budget, controlling spending in relation to changes in production volume, and provide relevant information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data.
  • Improve efficiencies by employing Lean Manufacturing or other methodologies to efficiently allocate resources to meet production goals, initiate plans and/or processes that minimize costs, and make the best use of equipment, facilities, materials, manpower, and capital.
  • Initiate and coordinate major projects, such as plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and waste, monitor scrap and rework data, and ensure manufacturing processes are cost-effective.
  • Lead and direct Production Supervisors, training and developing supervisors to be effective leaders in the plant, creating a safe and productive production environment.
  • Responsible for associate engagement, including creating a positive work environment, ensuring associates are communicated to effectively, coached, given constructive feedback geared toward professional growth and/or performance improvement, and using positive management techniques to direct the production team and monitor their progress in meeting departmental goals.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of the safety program, including completion of training for all associates, an engaged and productive safety committee, and compliance with all applicable company policies and procedures, and regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, HLAC, etc.).
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing management.
  • Solid working knowledge of Lean production management and quality integration concepts and a proven track record of change implementation are required.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment with production, purchasing, engineering, sales, quality, finance, human resources, and other stakeholders within the organization to achieve overall company objectives.
  • Must possess excellent organization and time management skills and the ability to provide leadership, supervision, and training using positive supervisory techniques to ensure maximum productivity.
  • Experience with production scheduling and quality control systems is required.
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of financial systems and the ability to understand and analyze financial statements.
  • Must have an understanding of Key Performance Indicators and the ability to establish and implement plans to drive results.
  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, interpret documents, understand procedures, and write reports.
  • Strong process orientation, detail-oriented, logical, and methodological approach to problem-solving, and the leadership skills necessary to direct employees toward production goals and determine how to correct problems quickly to minimize the loss of production time.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
