Theatre Technical Crew Member

Overview:
The Theatre Technical Crew Member provides support for Performing Arts Center shows, events, and classes. This role involves training on construction and painting techniques for theatrical scenery, industry standards for installation, operation, and maintenance of lighting, audio, and film/video equipment, and setting up risers, chairs, and music stands. Additional opportunities are available for Event Staffing and Backstage Crew.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construction and painting of scenery and furniture
- Installation, operation, and maintenance of lighting, audio, and video equipment
- Event staffing and backstage conventions
- Providing support for Performing Arts Center shows, events, and classes
Requirements:
- Must be enrolled at Oakton College in at least 6 credit hours during the fall and spring semesters
- Must have an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher and be in good standing at Oakton College
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Friendly, flexible, able to work on a team, and be good with your hands
- Ability to lift 15 lbs regularly
- Ability to wear personal protective gear correctly
- Ability to safely climb ladders and work at heights preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in theatre, art, film, or photography
