Job Title: Sales Representative - Japanese Food Specialist

Join Mutual Trading Co., Inc. as a Sales Representative - Japanese Food Specialist and play a key role in promoting Japanese foods worldwide. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for meeting sales targets, providing excellent customer service, and building strong relationships with our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet monthly and annual sales targets as designated by the manager
  • Visit customers to provide support, information, and sell our products
  • Coordinate with the accounting department to ensure timely payment collection
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service and rapport building
  • Respond to and communicate with customers in a timely manner
  • Travel and visit out-of-town customers bi-weekly to introduce and sell products
  • Coordinate urgent deliveries with customers to accommodate their needs
  • Educate customers on how our products can benefit them
  • Input and update orders within our Company database accordingly
  • Maintain and safely navigate our Company vehicle as per our Company Vehicle Policy
  • Participate in weekly meetings
  • Attend Company events and functions outside of normal working hours
  • Other duties as required by the manager

Requirements:

  • Able to drive for a majority of the daily working hours, including long hours of driving
  • Able to sit in a car for extended periods of time
  • Able to reach, bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally
  • Able to use the phone for extended periods of time
  • Working Conditions
  • Noise Level: Normal to loud while in the office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Business level English required - Read/write/speak/listen
  • Business level Korean required - Read/write/speak/listen (Japanese or Chinese language abilities also preferred)
  • Has a valid driver's license and maintains a clean driving record
  • Able to periodically stay overnight out of town to visit clients
  • Maintains a positive attitude
  • Able to work independently and as a team
  • Able to adapt to frequent changes in assignments and workload
  • High School Diploma required. Bachelor's Degree or above preferred
  • 2+ years of sales experience required; 5+ years of sales experience preferred - Some front-of-house restaurant experience will be considered

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Basic mathematical knowledge - markups, discounts, combining/converting measurements, counting inventory, etc.
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Japanese foods and sakes
