About the Job

This position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and repair of highways, roads, and bridges. Duties may include:

  • Operating heavy equipment such as tandem dump trucks, loaders, and tractors
  • Mowing grass and weeds
  • Removing debris from roadways, including rock, mud, and deceased animals
  • Installing and repairing guardrail, highway markers, and signs
  • Filling potholes and roadway cracks
  • Setting out signs and cones for traffic control
  • Removing and covering graffiti
  • Installing pavement markings/striping
  • Stopping or slowing traffic in emergency situations
  • Maintaining equipment and performing minor repairs
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with no restrictions on air brakes
  • At least two years of physical labor and/or heavy equipment operation experience
  • A strong commitment to working safely and following all safety protocols
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing conditions and priorities
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software and equipment
