Job Summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a skilled Drug and Alcohol Counselor/Case Manager to join our team at Hope Harbor Center. As a key member of our residential treatment program, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive care and support to individuals struggling with addiction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and direct the care and supervision of residents in our licensed residential drug and alcohol treatment facility.
  • Develop and coordinate appropriate activities to meet evidence-based practices, including entering patients into HMIS, CAL-OMS, and DMC.
  • Identify needs and expand on identified interests, working collaboratively with clinical program managers and counselors to ensure maximum outcomes in all areas of treatment.
  • Engage in in-service training classes, maintain a caseload of 12-14 clients, and ensure adherence to house rules and log notable incidents.
  • Conduct weekly case conferences with program supervisors, develop and implement evidence-based practice curriculum, and review charts to maintain efficiency.
  • Ensure all clients maintain current TB tests and physical exams, report repairs to operation managers, and conduct random room checks for caseload.
  • In case of emergencies, follow 9-1-1 procedures and take the lead to maintain the safety of clients, staff, and facility.
Requirements
  • MUST be a certified or registered Alcohol and Drug Counselor (AOD) with up-to-date registration.
  • BA degree preferred in the field of social work/human services.
  • Experience working with parolees, mental health clients, DMC, and homeless populations desired.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Valid California driver's license with a clean MVR check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Salvation Army policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work in vicinity of children, with a criminal background check and certification for Protect the Mission policies and procedures.
