The Role:

The Senior Inventory Controller plays a pivotal role in the planning team, providing guidance and support in the allocation and new store establishment processes. This position is responsible for product assortment and store classification through the analysis of sales performance, ensuring the optimal stock mix and volume to achieve sales targets.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective location planning strategies to maintain balanced inventories by store, region, and customer demographics, aligning with trade, commercial, and seasonal goals for both existing and new stores.
  • Drive commercially focused and innovative leadership, consistently identifying and acting on opportunities across the network.
  • Establish and nurture essential partnerships with the Buying Team, Merchandise Manager, Inventory Planning Manager, and New Store Teams.
  • Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of the space and range program, ensuring accurate planning data is available throughout the organization.
  • Analyze, report, and evaluate space and range outcomes, ensuring alignment of the allocation process with established plans.
  • Utilize systems and tools effectively to execute allocation strategies while developing best practices and innovative methodologies for the location planning process.
  • Implement proactive stock control measures to address and rectify imbalances in product assortment.

Key Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in retail inventory planning, allocations, and forecasting.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage and interpret data effectively.
  • Proficient in Excel with a high level of expertise.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Demonstrated experience in people and line management.
