POSITION SUMMARY

The Case Packer Operator is tasked with efficiently operating the Case Packer associated with their assigned production line. The role requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a keen attention to detail amidst frequent changes. This position reports to the Production Manager.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Operate case packing, case forming, and case sealing machinery in accordance with established protocols.
  • Utilize computer-controlled equipment to select, position, and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines.
  • Adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately and promptly, adhering to specifications.
  • Understand and follow the operation of all safety switches, interlocks, and safety devices.
  • Perform label cuts and resolve jams as necessary.
  • Oversee the flow of cases from the case packer, add bottles to partially filled cases, and monitor label quality.
  • Manage the operation of the case sealer and maintain glue levels in the hot melt unit.
  • Update codes in the Marsh coder as required.
  • Assist maintenance with size changeovers and perform grid removal and replacement.
  • Exhibit proficiency in all maintenance aspects of the case packer and case sealer.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with good housekeeping practices.
  • Carry out other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Forklift certification.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three months of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the food and beverage industry.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or production setting.
  • Excellent time management skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

This role requires sufficient physical ability to operate in a production environment.

FREQUENT: Ability to communicate effectively; stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend, and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use hands and fingers to operate machinery and equipment. Exposure to wet and humid conditions and varying ambient temperatures.

OCCASIONAL: Squatting, kneeling, reaching above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask and perform confined entry using the Lockout/Tagout program. Exposure to hazardous chemicals.
