JOB TITLE: AUTOMATION TECHNICIAN

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

As an Automation Technician, you will engage in both company and client sites to enhance 4-Horn Management's automation solutions. This role encompasses the entire lifecycle of water transfer control and monitoring systems within the Oil & Gas sector. Your responsibilities will ensure that all automation system requirements are met efficiently, accurately, and promptly. This position offers a valuable opportunity for professional development within our service division and beyond.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & SKILLS:
  • Proficient understanding and exceptional troubleshooting capabilities in analog and digital instrumentation, as well as electronic circuitry.
  • A valid state driver's license with a clean driving record is essential for local and regional travel.
  • Ability to stand, sit, and kneel for extended periods in various weather conditions.
  • Capability to frequently lift over 50 lbs.
PREFERRED EDUCATION & SKILLS:
  • Possession of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or relevant certification in engineering or information technology is preferred.
  • Experience with water transfer systems or centrifugal pumps is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus), SCADA systems, and cellular modems is a plus.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Conduct installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of water transfer control and monitoring systems both in the workshop and in the field.
  • Utilize standard hand and power tools to install various sensors and control devices.
  • Provide both in-field and remote support to clients using hardware devices and web-based monitoring platforms.
  • Assist clients in configuring and adjusting web-based control systems on-site or remotely.
  • Offer technical assistance to diagnose wiring and hardware challenges for field systems.
  • Collaborate closely with the automation team to contribute insights for the development of new products and services.
  • Maintain professional and ethical relationships with all clients and colleagues, adhering to established company policies and procedures.
  • Accurately complete all required service documentation and tickets in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with the team regarding the ordering, stocking, and delivery of necessary parts and equipment.
  • Act as a safety ambassador, ensuring all tasks are performed in the safest manner possible.
  • Execute additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management.
