Job Title: Technical Manager

Genesis10 is seeking a highly skilled Technical Manager to lead our Production Support and Release Management team. This is a 3-6 month contract to hire position.

Job Summary:

The Technical Manager will be responsible for driving a release process end-to-end, collaborating across IT and Business Units. They will establish consistent release management processes and cadence, facilitate cross-department coordination, and track and manage release calendars.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive a release process end-to-end through collaboration across IT and Business Units.
  • Establish consistent release management processes and cadence.
  • Facilitate cross-department coordination of release management functions.
  • Track and manage release calendars, including monthly deployment and administration of production releases.
  • Lead Business-As-Usual (BAU) and operational processes on the Data platform, including execution plans, issue capture and tracking, and triage and lead issue resolutions.
  • Define and execute processes around the health of the Data Supply Chain (DSC) cycles.
  • Create clear communication processes across all teams supporting the DSC - technology, data, and business.
  • Inform staff and management of multiple business units of release risk and effectively mitigate it.
  • Measure release cadence and effectiveness using common metrics across the platform portfolio and identify opportunities for greater efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient release blocker meetings.
  • Advocate for improvements to the release process.
  • Lead and coordinate go-live activities associated with monthly releases.
  • Support day-to-day processing and manage personnel responsible for this function.
  • Manage metadata and update processes as required.
  • Facilitate cross-enterprise working groups to solicit input and feedback to develop and revise policy and framework content.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management or related field.
  • At least 8 years' experience in deploying and managing enterprise information delivery initiatives within distributed and cloud data platforms/environments.
  • Consumer Financial Services background preferred.
  • Strong Data Warehousing experience across multiple technologies, including SQL-Based databases.
  • Proven experience supporting and release management of data platform built using technologies like AWS, Glue, Python, PowerShell, Snowflake, AWS S3, Airflow, AWS Lake Formation, GitHub, JIRA, etc.
  • Ability to communicate effectively via multiple channels (verbal, written, etc.) with technical and non-technical staff.
  • Ability to routinely interact with multiple levels of the organization, including executive level members.
  • Ability to work with data warehouse users, IT Business Analysts, and all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with common CI/CD tools like Jenkins, AWS Code Commit, Code Deploy, or Git, etc.
