Position Summary

The Project Manager is a key role in our Site Civil Engineering Group in the Woodbury, Long Island (Nassau County), NY office. This position oversees the technical operation, manages projects, and helps build strong customer relationships and maximize the company's operating performance.

This is an exciting opportunity for a leader who will be responsible for the growth of our transportation and infrastructure practice in our Woodbury office, with a primary focus on the New York City and surrounding market and agencies such as NYSDOT, NYCDDC, NYCDOT, PANY/NJ, Counties, etc.

The candidate should have a good understanding of public and private sector work, including regulations, guidelines, and approvals required for the regulating authorities.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage and develop transportation design projects, including roadway, highway, site facilities, drainage, and stormwater projects.
  2. Manage collaboration of the design team and interdisciplinary team projects.
  3. Provide technical leadership and project management for projects, including scheduling, budgeting, client coordination, permit coordination, to deliver projects on time and on budget.
  4. Set performance and financial goals for the team and attain them through team direction and management.
  5. Assess, evaluate, and report on overall team and individual team member performance.
  6. Research and identify new business opportunities in the private and public sectors.
  7. Collaborate with executives and VPs to decide on business strategies.
  8. Development of technical proposals and pursuits, including marketing strategies to capture new clientele.
  9. Ensure compliance with company policies and local, regional, and federal regulations.
  10. Build talent within the team by creating a culture of ownership and accountability focused on delivering results, meritocracy, and transparency.
  11. Attend various seminars and meetings as well as networking with in-house divisions to cultivate new business.
  12. Commit to personal growth of your technical excellence by participating in professional development, training, and certification activities.
  13. Establish team excellence by communicating expectations, being a guide and mentor, discussing career road maps and pathways, and providing learning and development opportunities to maintain an inclusive work environment.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or master's degree in civil engineering.

Professional Engineer Licensure in NY.

10-12 years of experience in the industry with a focus on New York City and surrounding infrastructure and transportation projects.

Strong experience in project management, scheduling, and budgeting.

Understanding of business functions such as Business Development, Project Management, Engineering Design, Quality Control, etc.

Familiarity and understanding of NYC and surrounding regulatory agencies and requirements.

Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
