Job Summary

Rumpke of Ohio, Inc. is seeking a skilled Tractor Trailer Driver to join our team in the waste management industry. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor trailer to transport waste and recyclables to designated disposal sites and recycling plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Tractor Trailer Safely: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies, while operating the tractor trailer.
  • Timely and Efficient Delivery: Pick up trailers and deliver to designated destinations in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Route Management: Maintain and update route sheets to ensure accurate and efficient delivery routes.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, complete logs, and maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance.
  • Customer Interaction: Interact with internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Teamwork: Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
Requirements
  • Valid Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement: Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with a Tanker Endorsement.
  • DOT Medical Card: Must have a valid Department of Transportation Medical Card or be able to obtain one prior to hire.
  • Age and Experience: Must be at least 19 years of age and have at least 2 years of previous CDL truck driving experience.
  • Driving Record: Must have no more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years and no DUIs or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years.
  • Language Skills: Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training.
Working Conditions
  • Exposure to Traffic and Weather: May be exposed to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas, as well as various weather conditions.
  • Exposure to Waste and Recycling: May be exposed to residential and commercial waste and recyclables.
  • Flexible Scheduling: Must be able to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
