Rumpke of Ohio, Inc. is seeking a skilled Tractor Trailer Driver to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely hauling trailers of waste or recyclables to designated disposal sites or recycling plants.
Responsibilities- Operate Truck Safely: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
- Timely Deliveries: Pick up trailers and deliver to designated destinations in a timely and efficient manner.
- Route Management: Maintain and update route sheets to ensure accurate and efficient delivery routes.
- Pre- and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip inspections and complete logs to ensure vehicle safety and regulatory compliance.
- Driver Log Management: Maintain and update driver logs to track hours, routes, and other relevant information.
- Customer Interaction: Interact with internal and external customers to provide excellent service and support.
- Teamwork: Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
- Valid CDL: Possess a valid Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement.
- DOT Medical Card: Hold a valid DOT Medical Card or be able to obtain one prior to hire.
- Age and Experience: Be at least 19 years of age and have at least 2 years of previous CDL truck driving experience.
- Driving Record: Have no more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years and no DUIs or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years.
- Language Skills: Be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training.
- Exposure to Traffic: Work in high traffic conditions and tight driving areas.
- Exposure to Waste: Be exposed to residential and commercial waste.
- Flexible Scheduling: Work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
