Position Overview:

Florida Atlantic University is on the lookout for an Academic Advisor I to provide essential guidance to students within the College of Business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer expert advice and counseling to students regarding their academic pathways, ensuring adherence to academic policies and maintaining accurate student records.
  • Assist prospective students throughout the application journey, from initial inquiries to course enrollment.
  • Facilitate recruitment efforts by coordinating large group presentations aimed at attracting potential students.
  • Collaborate with the Graduate College to manage admission processes, including handling student applications and official documentation.
  • Work in conjunction with the marketing team to develop promotional materials for various platforms.
  • Lead social media initiatives related to graduate programs and recruitment strategies.
  • Oversee the delivery of academic support services within the College of Business.
  • Address and resolve student issues as they arise.
  • Manage class schedules and student course registrations each term.
  • Ensure the accuracy of graduation documentation and audits for all students.
  • Organize and coordinate events for academic programs.
  • Collaborate closely with the Registrar's Office during registration periods.
  • Provide general administrative support in areas such as retention and registration as needed.
  • Participate in college fairs and external recruitment events.
  • Engage in orientations and recruitment activities.
  • Work alongside faculty to enhance communication with students facing unique challenges.
  • Maintain regular communication with students via phone and email.
  • Track and organize students' academic progress effectively.
  • Utilize degree audit systems to guide students in meeting their degree requirements.
  • Develop and implement strategies aimed at improving student retention.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director or Associate Director.

Qualifications:

A Master's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field is required.

Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is $51,000.

Work Schedule:

This position operates Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
