About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at Colliers Engineering & Design. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality projects and providing expert advice to clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in or lead field assignments, including observation of geotechnical explorations and construction observation.
  • Perform geotechnical analyses, including bearing capacity evaluations, stability evaluations, and seepage analyses.
  • Prepare field reports and engineering calculation packages.
  • Develop technical specifications, design drawings, and construction submittals for compliance with contract requirements and design assumptions.
  • Review and assist with assigning field and laboratory soil and material testing.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with contractors, clients, and team members.
Requirements
  • 0-4 years of experience in a related field.
  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline (civil engineering) or science degree (geology/environmental science, etc).
  • EIT/GIT certification or ability to obtain.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, REVIT, and other CAD platforms is a plus.
  • Experience or academic training with geotechnical software such as SEEP/W, SLOPE/W, SETTLE3D, L-Pile, is preferred.
  • Soils laboratory experience is a plus.
  • Following certifications are a plus: Nuclear Density Gauge Operator; American Concrete Institute (ACI) Level I Inspector; and/or related certifications from ICC.
  • Candidate must have consistent means of transportation to and from project sites with a valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
