Position Overview:

Florida Atlantic University is actively seeking an Academic Advisor I to provide essential support for students within the College of Business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide and counsel students regarding their academic pathways, ensuring adherence to academic policies, maintaining accurate records, and facilitating processes related to registration, orientation, and graduation.
  • Assist prospective students throughout the application journey, from initial inquiries to course enrollment.
  • Coordinate recruitment efforts and deliver presentations to groups of potential students.
  • Collaborate with the Graduate College to manage admissions, including student applications, transcript evaluations, residency documentation, and award decisions.
  • Work alongside the marketing team to develop promotional materials such as catalogs and digital content.
  • Lead social media initiatives related to graduate programs and recruitment.
  • Oversee the delivery of academic support services within the College of Business.
  • Address and resolve student issues as they arise.
  • Manage student schedules and course assignments each term.
  • Ensure accurate processing of graduation documentation and audits for all students.
  • Organize and coordinate events for academic programs.
  • Collaborate closely with the Registrar's Office during registration periods.
  • Provide general administrative support in areas such as retention and registration as needed.
  • Attend college fairs and external events for recruitment purposes.
  • Participate in orientations and recruitment activities.
  • Facilitate communication between students and faculty in unique situations.
  • Maintain regular correspondence with students via phone and email.
  • Track and organize students' academic progress effectively.
  • Utilize degree audit systems to guide students in meeting their degree requirements.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance student retention.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director or Associate Director.

Qualifications:

A Master's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field is required.

Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is $51,000.

Work Schedule:

This position operates Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
