Job Overview:

Position Summary:

The role involves the analysis and design of performance testing scenarios tailored to load behaviors on live systems and applications, as well as network configurations. The candidate will develop tools to monitor and collect performance metrics across both Linux and Windows environments. Responsibilities include assisting in the planning, design, and execution of testing within multifaceted projects. The individual will compile summary reports and offer recommendations to enhance coding standards or optimize database indexing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collects non-functional requirements to assess application performance.
  • Establishes performance testing scenarios and workflows, linking load profiles to ensure optimal application performance.
  • Develops comprehensive performance test plans, data, procedures, and automated scripts, capturing results from execution.
  • Engages in formal reviews of application architecture and performance prerequisites.
  • Produces thorough and precise reports on application performance issues.
  • Identifies and proposes solutions for performance deficiencies through testing and analysis.
  • Ensures the testing environment mirrors production for accurate test execution.
  • Aids in the creation of proprietary testing tools.
  • Executes automated testing scripts for complex projects.
  • Collaborates with project teams to define testing criteria for entry and exit.
  • Conducts independent and intricate technical and functional analyses across multiple projects supporting various initiatives.
  • Suggests strategies and methodologies to enhance testing plans and processes.
  • Analyzes and communicates testing status and outcomes.
  • Identifies testing challenges and reports findings to project management and stakeholders.

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Business Administration, Physics, or a closely related field, along with three (3) years of experience as a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer (or similar role) focusing on software performance engineering for web applications, APIs, HTTP traffic, and UIs in a DevOps setting.

Alternatively, a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in the aforementioned fields, with one (1) year of experience in a similar capacity.

Skills and Expertise:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proven expertise in software performance benchmarking and engineering for web applications, APIs, HTTP traffic, databases, and UIs, adhering to DevOps practices using performance benchmarking tools and AWS infrastructure, including JMeter, Grafana, Selenium Webdriver, Datadog, GitHub, and Jenkins.
  • Experience in analyzing and monitoring hardware performance metrics such as CPU/memory, heap, and Garbage Collections (GC) across .Net, Python, JavaScript, Java, and various software platforms; familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems using APM tools like Datadog, Splunk, and Dynatrace.
  • Proficiency in identifying performance bottlenecks and providing tuning recommendations to global development teams using APM tools, alongside capacity planning to advocate for CPU sizing, memory, database utilization, and network configuration management.
  • Skills in verifying application performance through the development of performance testing strategies, gathering non-functional requirements, designing automated test scripts, executing feasibility studies, and supporting high availability cluster configurations.
