As a Parts Logistics Coordinator, you will operate under the guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor, responsible for the procurement, receipt, storage, inventory management, and distribution of materials essential for equipment maintenance. This role requires proficiency in moving, loading, and unloading materials, as well as operating equipment necessary for material transfer, including forklifts and other machinery.
Key ResponsibilitiesPRIMARY DUTIES:
- Facilitates and accelerates the movement of materials, components, and assemblies within or between departments, adhering to production schedules and departmental priorities.
- Utilizes the Global Combat Support System – Army (GCSS-A) as needed to fulfill assigned responsibilities.
- Conducts routine daily tasks following established protocols, seeking guidance from supervisors for atypical issues.
- Confirms the accuracy of incoming shipments by cross-referencing items and quantities against shipping documents.
- Inspects materials to ensure they meet specified requirements and checks for any damages.
- Assesses the quantity of materials required for specific tasks, applying logistics knowledge effectively.
- Ensures proper identification and routing of materials to various departments while maintaining accurate records of received goods.
- Operates material handling equipment to transport materials as necessary.
- Employs computerized systems to generate reports on material inventory.
- Performs additional duties as assigned to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
- Adapts to changes in the work environment and manages assigned tasks efficiently.
MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT USED:
- Utilizes standard office equipment including computers, printers, and calculators.
- Steel-toed footwear and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are mandatory in designated areas.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work activities may occur in both indoor and outdoor settings.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including nights and weekends, may be required.
- Compliance with OSHA, EPA, and fire safety regulations is essential.
- A standard work week consists of 40 hours, typically over five days.
- Willingness to work additional hours as needed to meet mission requirements is expected.
- Close visual acuity is necessary for tasks such as data analysis, computer usage, and detailed inspections.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Job duties involve standing, climbing, and bending, with occasional work in confined spaces.
- Ability to stand for extended periods is required.
- Regularly lifts items weighing up to 25 pounds, with occasional assistance for heavier items up to 75 pounds.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Familiarity with maintenance regulations, particularly DA Pam 750-8, is preferred.
- Specific educational and experiential requirements may apply based on contractual obligations.
- Proficiency in standard office equipment operation is required.
- A valid state driver's license is necessary.
- Capability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) is essential.
Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience is required.
- Knowledge of GCSS-Army is essential.
- Understanding of basic office procedures and purchasing policies is necessary.
- Familiarity with local import/export and customs processes is advantageous.
- Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are required.
- Basic arithmetic, typing, and customer service skills are essential.
- Ability to complete routine tasks as per established guidelines while seeking guidance for unusual situations.
- Collaborative skills to assist in moving parts to repair areas are necessary.
- Capacity to verify the accuracy of materials delivered and assess for damages is crucial.
