About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and launch of innovative retail solutions at scale for Walmart's current and next-generation products. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving Operational Excellence, mentoring senior, intermediate, and junior engineers, and navigating ambiguity to come up with solutions that work at scale.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and launch retail solutions at scale with high Operational Excellence.
  • Be a force multiplier by setting high standards for Coding, DevOps, and OE within the team.
  • Mentor senior, intermediate, and junior engineers in the team.
  • Lead initiatives from requirements analysis and design to post-launch support, adding value to Walmart store associates and shoppers.
  • Navigate ambiguity and innovate to come up with solutions that work at scale to innovate for the next generation of retail at Walmart.
Requirements
  • Expertise in Operational Excellence, making Operational Excellence a first-class citizen from design to implementation to post-launch.
  • Proven track record of leading and launching successful applications with a high degree of complexity at scale.
  • Ability to design solutions at scale involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent coding skills in Java and expertise using React, with the ability to write tech debt-free code.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and innovate at scale.
  • Proven track record of solving for issues at root using automation and self-service.

What We Offer
  • A competitive salary range of $110,000.00-$220,000.00.
  • Annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
  • Additional compensation for certain positions may also include stock.
  • A comprehensive benefits package, including 401(k) match, stock purchase plan, paid maternity and parental leave, PTO, multiple health plans, and more.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Option 2: 6 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
