Position Summary:

The Material Handler II will be responsible for the precise and safe management of materials within our facility. This role requires proficiency in various material handling tasks and a solid understanding of operational best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute accurate transactions and manage the physical movement of materials in and out of the inventory area.
  • Oversee inventory levels to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment through regular cycle counts.
  • Prepare and kit all work orders accurately.
  • Assist with the movement of work-in-progress materials and related transactions.
  • Support shipping, receiving, and packaging operations as needed.
  • Operate company vehicles and forklifts when required.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned, ensuring attendance is a priority.
  • Understand that forklift certification and a valid driver’s license may be necessary for specific tasks.
  • Adapt to fluctuating workloads and cross-train across departments to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Achieve proficiency in all level 1 tasks within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Participate in on-the-job training for various tasks.
  • Collaborate with Material Handler III for guidance on specialized functions.

Additional Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to perform all responsibilities of Material Handler I.
  • Basic proficiency in Excel and ERP systems.
  • Ability to create and manage inventory locations within the ERP system.
  • Experience in processing and printing barcode labels.
  • Competence in maintaining data for key performance indicators.
  • Skill in filling out complex forms in the ERP system.
  • Proficient in using various tools to resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Effective problem-solving skills to locate lost inventory.
  • Ability to optimize inventory storage for efficiency.
  • Familiarity with carrier software and preparing bills of lading.
  • Safe operation of hand trucks, pallet jacks, and scales.
  • Capability to perform repetitive motions, including bending and twisting.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Forklift certification and a valid driver’s license may be required.
  • 2+ years of experience in material distribution and ERP systems is preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • Work primarily occurs in a standard office setting.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and move for extended periods.
  • Capacity to lift up to 45 lbs independently and more with assistance.
  • Ability to sit and use a computer for prolonged periods.

Environmental Considerations:

  • Frequent interruptions may occur; personal protective equipment may be necessary.
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels from office equipment is possible.
