Position Overview:
We are in search of a skilled Commercial Lines Product Manager who will take charge of developing and managing our commercial lines strategy and roadmap. This role offers the chance to lead the entire product lifecycle, from conceptualization to post-launch assessment for designated business lines. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of coverage, pricing, and underwriting within commercial lines, with accountability for profit and loss outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the performance of assigned product lines and industry segments to ensure alignment with company goals; identify opportunities and challenges to product performance and propose necessary product and pricing adjustments.
- Conduct research on industry trends to recommend new and modified product offerings; prioritize and spearhead the development and execution of approved initiatives.
- Formulate strategic plans and set priorities for product initiatives and enhancements based on their potential impact on achieving company objectives; secure consensus from senior leadership.
- Lead and manage the backlog for the assigned cross-functional product team; collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of product initiatives.
- Work closely with underwriting, pricing, technology, and data teams to validate product, pricing, and automation enhancements; establish consensus and prioritize implementation efforts.
- Collaborate with actuaries and data scientists to assess opportunities for creating and refining predictive pricing models; partner with analysts to ensure favorable impacts on business lines post-implementation.
- Engage with pricing actuaries during the rate review process; provide insights based on market intelligence, underwriting feedback, and product performance to influence pricing strategies.
- Oversee the filing and implementation of products to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain regular communication with other product teams to stay informed about initiatives in progress across the organization.
- Ensure that deliverables meet organizational user and customer experience standards.
- Engage with technology leaders to align on product technology trends and roadmaps.
- Play a crucial role in product development and planning in collaboration with other departments and senior management.
- Participate in the selection and implementation of tools and systems that support product development and management.
- Utilize knowledge and experience to address complex problems effectively.
- Work collaboratively to develop and implement product management methodologies, governance, guidelines, and standards.
- Understand and meet customer expectations for insurance products and their delivery.
- Consistently uphold customer experience standards, including prompt responses, maintaining a positive demeanor, building rapport, demonstrating empathy, managing expectations, and ensuring resolution of customer issues.
- Undertake special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in commercial lines product management.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional product delivery teams.
- Familiarity with maintaining products in policy administration and customer portal systems.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels regarding key decisions and directions.
- Demonstrated capability to foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
- Working knowledge of regulatory requirements.
- Aptitude for multitasking and resolving complex issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A four-year degree in a relevant field.
- CPCU designation is preferred.
- Proficient in various core systems and technology tools, including office software.
