Ambulatory Surgery Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Ambulatory Surgery team at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our department.
Job Summary:The Registered Nurse is a professional practitioner who assesses, manages, directs, and provides nursing care activities during the patient's hospital stay and coordinates planning with other disciplines utilizing a patient/customer-driven approach.
Responsibilities:- Performs comprehensive nursing assessment/reassessment, accurately and completely documents findings, and evaluates the effectiveness of care based on assessment data, nursing interventions, patient response to medications, treatments, and procedures.
- Establishes, coordinates, and evaluates a plan of care based on analysis of assessment data, patient diagnosis, lab data, tests, procedures, physician orders, protocols, and standards of care.
- Provides and documents nursing interventions based on assessed patient needs, plan of care, and changes in patient status, including administering and documenting medications accurately according to policies and procedures.
- Documents and communicates nursing care and changes in patient condition, including ongoing evaluation of effectiveness of care and evaluation of plan of care and modifications as indicated.
- Provides specialized care to patients at high risk for injury, including restraint care, pain management, and abuse assessment.
- Demonstrates accountability for own professional practice, adheres to all quality and performance standards, policies, procedures, and protocols, and maintains currency in all hospital/unit information, communication, policies, and procedures.
- Provides service excellence to the customers of Saint Louis University Hospital by delivering timely, high-quality care in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Incorporates performance improvement and evidenced-based practice into individual professional practice, including assisting in developing and implementing nursing unit goals, remaining current with evidenced-based practice initiatives, and participating in the performance/process improvement process.
- Provides age-appropriate care to patients, including demonstrating knowledge and skills of normal growth and development necessary to provide services to the age of the patient served by the department.
