Key Responsibilities
  • Foster a data-informed culture across the organization, promoting data literacy and competencies.
  • Oversee the development of data architecture, systems, databases, and data warehouses to support our data needs.
  • Build partnerships to establish a vision for managing and leveraging data and analytics capabilities to maximize the value derived from data assets.
  • Monitor and evaluate processes, identify areas of improvement, and implement necessary changes.
  • Coordinate the use, protection, dissemination, and generation of data to prioritize data needs and ensure data initiatives align with requirements.
  • Lead the utilization of information assets, identify technologies and analytics needed to render insights for decision-making, and acquire, maintain, and drive the adoption of technology to best manage data.
  • Expand research and analytical offerings, especially in emerging analytical approaches and technologies, and establish and maintain trust in data technology and assets by instituting appropriate governance mechanisms for data and information management.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain IAM Level III certification within 6 months of hire if not already obtained.
  • Must be suitable for federal employment and pass a suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment.
Qualifications
  • GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
  • Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  • Customer Service: Works with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations.
  • Oral Communication: Expresses information to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information.
  • Problem Solving: Identifies problems, determines accuracy and relevance of information, uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
Specialized Experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing and leading data management teams.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of data.
  • Extensive familiarity and experience with information or data architecture.
  • Familiarity with data science.
  • Providing administrative supervision, including personnel management and governance best practices.
