Job Title: Senior Instrumentation and Controls Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Instrumentation and Controls Designer to join our team at Taylor Technical Services, Inc. in Alaska.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will apply technical knowledge of Instrumentation and Controls codes and standards, engineering principles, equipment characteristics, installation methods, and specifications to resolve construction-stage requests for Information and technical queries.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently applies technical knowledge to resolve RFIs and TQs with infrequent reference to the Engineer of Record.
  • Interprets complex vendor data or drawings for conformance with project requirements to resolve construction-stage problems.
  • Proficiently operates computer systems and applications as needed to resolve questions.
  • Consistently demonstrates skill in structuring assigned activities, applying creativity and teamwork as needed to complete tasking within schedule.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the oil and gas industry in Alaska (preferred, not required) as an instrumentation/controls engineer or designer.
  • Minimum of one year of construction support experience which requires resolving Requests for Information or Technical Queries.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Applicable Arctic/cold weather experience.
  • 3-D modeling experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a working knowledge of AutoCad, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and current *.DWG and *.PDF viewing and markup software.
