Job Description

Gift of Life Donor Program is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to join our team as an Organ and Tissue Coordinator.

This is an excellent opportunity for an adaptable, confident, and strong communicator with a passion to help improve the donor management and allocation process.

The ideal candidate will have a BS/BA in sciences or a health-related field, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a strong understanding of human anatomy.

The successful candidate will be responsible for partnering with hospitals and agencies, collecting clinical patient information, and evaluating referred patients for organ and tissue donation.

They will also work with the families of potential eye and tissue donors to create lasting legacies for their loved ones, advocate for donation on behalf of potential recipients, and interact with other professionals to coordinate all aspects of the donation process.

The Organ and Tissue Coordinator will also be responsible for sharing complex clinical information about donors, allocating organs, and coordinating lifesaving transplants.

They will work seven 12.5 hour shifts bi-weekly, with a schedule that includes every other weekend and holiday.

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, able to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and respond to rapidly changing situations.

They will also have a strong understanding of medical terminology and be able to work with state-of-the-art technology in an ergonomically designed workplace.
