Job Summary

River Edge Behavioral Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Therapeutic Childcare Lead Teacher to join our team. As a key member of our childcare services team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for children of mothers seeking recovery from substance use disorder.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Assessments and Develop Treatment Plans: Conduct or assist with assessments to identify the needs of children and develop or assist in developing treatment plans to ensure their well-being.
  • Facilitate Groups and Provide Support: Facilitate or assist with groups for parents and/or children, providing a supportive and non-judgmental environment for them to share their experiences and receive guidance.
  • Liaise with Other Agencies: Act as a liaison to other agencies involved with children in our childcare services, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Provide Childcare and Support: Assist with childcare and provide emotional support to children, helping them to feel secure and valued.
  • Lead and Manage: In the absence of the TCC Program Director/Coordinator, you will be in charge and ensure all policies and procedures are met and in compliance with DBHDD.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist the TCC Program Director with administrative tasks, including organizing community and monthly events, and attending meetings and trainings.
Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: A Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field, with six months of qualifying childcare experience, preferably with children of substance-abusing mothers.
  • Alternative Qualifications: An Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, a Child Development Associate credential, or a Child Development and Related Care Diploma, with one year of qualifying childcare experience, preferably with children of substance-abusing mothers.
