About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Atlantic Vision Partners. As a key member of our ambulatory surgery team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and complete patient assessments to provide supportive care before, during, and after surgery.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and patients to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Provide a safe environment for patients, preventing potential injury and maintaining accurate records.
  • Investigate and intervene in problem situations, reporting relevant information to supervisors and documenting incidents.
  • Clean and disinfect equipment, operate specialized equipment, and troubleshoot patient monitoring equipment.
  • Anticipate and assist with maintaining adequate inventory of supplies and medications.
  • Administer medications (excluding IV procedures) and other therapeutic measures in a safe and accurate manner.
  • Ensure informed consent is obtained prior to sedation administration.
  • Consult with supervisors or physicians as needed and participate in educational opportunities for professional growth.
  • Participate in staff meetings and adhere to established routines, maintaining patient confidentiality and flexibility.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
  • Current license from the state board of nursing to practice as a practical nurse.
  • IV certification and Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
  • Experience in an ambulatory surgery environment.
  • Understanding of proper supply handling, tissue specimen handling, and patient positioning.
  • Familiarity with organizational policies, regulations, and procedures related to nursing service.
  • Knowledge of literature and new developments in the field, with emphasis on operating room procedures.

Physical and Cognitive Requirements

Exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects. Repetitive motion, close visual acuity, and prolonged stationary periods are also required.
