RN Student Nurse Extern PRN Medical Surgical Unit

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate RN Student Nurse Extern PRN Medical Surgical Unit to join our team at Retreat Doctors' Hospital. As a Nurse Extern, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and assist with providing patient care. Your primary responsibilities will include delivering high-quality patient-centered care services, performing direct and indirect patient care, and working closely with the clinical team to create and implement a care plan.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient-centered care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living.
- Perform direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Assist with patient mobility by regularly turning, positioning, and ambulating patients.
- Translate complex medical terminology to ensure patients and families understand their medical condition, treatment plan, medications, and possible side effects.
- Educate patients and families on healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes that may be needed upon discharge.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited school of nursing.
- Ability to create and implement a personal career development plan.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
