Maintenance and Fabrication Specialist

Total Safety is a leading provider of integrated safety and compliance services seeking a highly skilled Maintenance and Fabrication Specialist to join our team.
As a key member of our safety-conscious team, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining shop machinery and equipment in excellent working order, ensuring the facility remains clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
The ideal candidate will possess equivalent work experience in a shop environment, be self-motivated, flexible, and able to meet deadlines, with a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and assume additional or new responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
Maintain shop machinery and equipment in excellent working order, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
Assist in mechanical maintenance and repair as requested, including servicing and cleaning shop equipment to maintain usability.
Participate in pipe and plate fabrication, prepare materials, operate equipment and machinery, and paint, working closely with Welder/Fabricator Specialists as needed.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and organizing the shop daily, moving materials and equipment as required, and replacing light bulbs and air filters as needed.
Keep the yard organized to maximize effective use of space, assist in cost-effective disposal of outdated equipment, materials, and scrap, and dispose of non-usable parts and materials in accordance with Company protocols.
$60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Equivalent work experience in a shop environment.
Self-motivated, flexible, and able to meet deadlines.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and assume additional or new responsibilities.
Working Environment:
The work environment is typically performed in a shop, which is a hazardous environment. Safety considerations include but are not limited to electrical, heat and fire, mechanical hazards, radiation, fumes and deposits, noise, equipment operation, heavy materials moving, and working in close quarters, working at great heights, and driving hazards.
