Position Overview:
We are seeking a knowledgeable clinical nutrition specialist to join our Cura Hospitality team. In this role, you will assess and address the nutritional requirements of assigned patients/residents, implement strategies to maintain or improve their nutritional health, and enhance their quality of life in alignment with their personal goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver nutritional guidance to the healthcare team and educate patients/residents, staff, or external consultants.
- Adhere to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' standards of practice and comply with facility regulations.
- Collaborate with various departments to establish procedures and policies, and resolve issues related to dining services and nutrition.
- Actively engage in the development, assessment, and refinement of continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in nutrition or a related discipline
- Successful completion of a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or fulfillment of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' eligibility criteria.
- Completion of 75 hours of continuing education every five years, in accordance with CDR guidelines, utilizing the professional portfolio development process.
- Licensed or certified as per state regulations.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards concerning comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residents' rights.
- Ability to effectively educate others on nutrition and dietetics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in healthcare or long-term care settings.
