Position Overview

Isidore Newman School is in search of a passionate and dedicated individual to take on the role of Head Varsity Golf Coach. This part-time position involves overseeing the golf program, with a focus on both boys' and girls' teams, ensuring alignment and excellence throughout.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree is preferred for this role.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A comprehensive understanding of golf regulations, including LHSAA guidelines.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in technology and computer applications.
  • A genuine interest in fostering students' academic, athletic, and social development.
  • A proven ability to collaborate effectively with teams and engage with students and educators at the Upper School level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the program director for the entire varsity golf initiative, ensuring consistency and oversight across both girls' and boys' teams.
  • Develop and execute practice strategies, including tactical match plans, while making in-game adjustments as necessary.
  • Establish high standards for a well-regarded program, nurturing positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, faculty, and administration.
  • Foster and maintain a healthy, inclusive team environment.
  • Align with the school's mission, core values, and guiding principles.

While prior coaching experience is beneficial, it is not a prerequisite. The successful candidate should be an inspiring motivator, demonstrate effective communication techniques, and exhibit a positive coaching style, all while showcasing a deep commitment and passion for the sport of golf.
