Key Responsibilities
  • Coaches lower level programs, monitors the work area to prevent emergency situations, and responds effectively in emergency situations.
  • Explains and enforces safety rules and regulations governing sports, recreational activities, and the use of exercise equipment.
  • Assesses the needs of clients and prepares workout regimes based on the requirements.
  • Offers alternatives during classes to accommodate different levels of fitness.
  • Keeps track of client progress and accurately documents the results.
  • Administers basic first aid to clients in case of injuries.
  • Maintains exercise equipment, replaces damaged materials, and orders supplies to maintain inventory levels.
  • Follows guidelines as directed by Assistant and Head Coach.
  • Communicates athlete's progress to supervisor and parents.
  • Performs other duties as needed.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • None.
  • Preferred - 2 years experience in a relevant sport (For example Aquatics, Gymnastics).
  • Required - CPR (Will train within 30 days of hire).
  • USA sport specific certification (Current or within 90 days of date of hire).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to be self-directed.
  • Ability to work night and weekends and travel for competition.
  • Working knowledge of progressions based on athletes performance.
  • Ability to work well with peers.
Physical and Environmental Demands

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue and as part of their employment, incumbents are not called upon to perform or assist in emergency care or first aid.
