Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physician Assistant to join our Cardiovascular Medicine team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with our medical team, and contribute to the development of our cardiovascular services.


Responsibilities

The Physician Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Performing comprehensive and problem-focused history and physical exams
  • Diagnosing and treating common conditions and providing follow-up care within the scope of practice
  • Ordering, collecting, performing, and interpreting appropriate laboratory or diagnostic procedures and studies
  • Exercising judgment on problems requiring consultation, referral, or evaluation by the supervising physician or other healthcare professionals
  • Ordering, prescribing, and administering medications according to California State Law
  • Providing documentation according to department standards

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited PA Program approved by the California Board of Medical Examiners
  • Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the State of California
  • Current BLS for Health Care Providers and ACLS certifications
  • Experience with cardiothoracic surgery, including first and second assisting, opening and closing suturing surgical wounds, and wound care
  • Experience in critical care management, including advanced understanding of pleurovac and chest tube management
  • Experience in performing invasive procedures, including central vascular access, Swan Ganz insertion, dialysis catheter insertion, IABP insertion, chest tube insertion, and thoracentesis
  • Experience with endoscopic radial artery harvesting (ERAH)
  • Experience with Thoracic Robotic First Assistant education
