Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Power Generation Specialist to join our team at Siemens Energy in Charlotte. As a key member of our Materials Engineering department, you will be responsible for providing technical support and guidance to design, manufacturing, and service operations of large turbine generators for the power utility market.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide technical guidance on material selections and substitutions
* Support the qualification of new materials and suppliers of materials
* Develop and implement innovative materials concepts and processes for use in new part manufacture or service and repair of existing products
* Perform data analysis of material properties
* Write specifications for materials and related processes

Required Skills and Qualifications

* Must have a strong and broad knowledge of Materials Engineering with an emphasis on physical metallurgy
* Must have experience analyzing and/or testing structural and stainless steels, large forgings, copper conductors, Metals Joining (welding and brazing), corrosion, failure analysis, and non-destructive testing
* Bachelor's or master's degree in Materials Engineering with a concentration in metallurgy is required
* Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in the related field
* Must have strong expertise in Fractography and analyze micro-structures of metals
* Project Management training and experience
