The instructor will possess a thorough understanding of HRD concepts and core competencies, demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, and be technologically savvy and proficient in commonly used computer software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete VGCC paperwork and submit in a timely manner for data entry purposes.
  • Provide feedback to students regarding course progressions and assessments.
  • Maintain suitable class records, registration forms, attendance forms, evaluation forms, etc.
  • Inform Prison staff and coordinator of any student issues (attendance, behavior, etc.) as soon as possible.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Human Resources Development or similar field.
  • A minimum of one-year teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a correctional setting.
Physical Demands:
  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
