Job Summary

Prestige Employee Administrators is seeking a skilled Leave of Absence Specialist to oversee and manage leave requests and accommodations requiring specialized attention. This role will focus on delivering exceptional client and employee experiences, collaborating with internal support teams to administer leaves, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate with clients and employees regarding leave and modified work schedules, ensuring awareness of responsibilities and documentation requirements.
  • Handle the FMLA leave process from initial notice to return to work, including leave eligibility, medical certification, and intermittent leave use.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Team to prepare, submit, and retain necessary paperwork.
  • Maintain open communication with employees on leave to facilitate smooth returns to work and relay communication between employees and client managers.
  • Advise client managers and employees on leave laws interacting with paid time off, workers' compensation, short-term and long-term disability benefits, and other applicable leaves.
  • Oversee the return-to-work process for employees returning from extended FMLA, workers' compensation, or other leave(s).
  • Facilitate other leave requests, including leave accommodation requests under the ADA.
  • Administer company time-off programs as assigned, ensuring compliance with internal policy and applicable laws.
  • Draft and/or recommend revisions to company leave policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of leave and accommodation requests, preserving confidentiality of employee medical documentation and files.
  • Stay up-to-date on applicable leave and accommodation laws, including the FMLA, ADA, and state and local laws.
Requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of leave requirements and legal protections under the FMLA, ADA, and other applicable laws.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Collaboration and partnership skills, both internal and external.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of human resource experience.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
  • Specialized certification or training on FMLA/leave administration.

Salary range: $65,000 - $80,000. Powered by JazzHR.
