Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit Nurse to join our team at Rady Children's Hospital - San Diego. As a travel nurse, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing exceptional care to critically ill pediatric patients with complex cardiac conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to pediatric patients with cardiac conditions, including post-operative care, medication management, and monitoring of vital signs.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Float between units, including PICU, NICU, medical, surgical, hem/onc, and medical behavioral unit, as needed.
Requirements
  • Current CA RN license in hand or pending with estimated times of arrival.
  • At least 2 years of CVPICU/CTICU experience leading up to assignment.
  • Must have PEDS Cardiac experience and heart transplant experience.
  • Willing to float between units and work variable shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Must have BLS and PALS certifications.
Work Schedule
  • Shifts: 3x12 variable or straight night shifts, 36x48 available.
  • Weekend Requirements: 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (combination of Fri/Sat nights for night shift and Sat/Sun for day shift).
  • 13 week contracts.
  • Requested Time Off: 6 days total (must still get 3 shifts in week).
  • Must be available to work holidays.
