Position Overview:
The Strategic Procurement Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that supplier delivery timelines, production quotas, and schedules are consistently met. This role involves the effective management of the flow of incoming materials, components, and associated documentation to fulfill production requirements. The selected individual will assess, formulate, and implement suitable actions to address any discrepancies in meeting production objectives. Furthermore, they will devise and oversee the planning and strategy for specific categories of parts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and implement part strategies to comprehensively satisfy production requirements.
- Collaborate with the Strategic Buyer to assist in the development of supplier strategies.
- Engage in a collaborative team environment, demonstrating strong teamwork skills and the ability to work alongside various functional groups to achieve overarching company objectives.
- Proactively identify issues in planning, determine necessary solutions and enhancements, and execute required adjustments to rectify identified challenges.
- Ensure visibility of material status through reports such as line of balance, material shortage, and clear to build reports.
- Proactively manage and communicate with key stakeholders and departments regarding any potential risks to production timelines.
- Gather and analyze data concerning the efficiency and punctuality of production demands and part delivery schedules.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to produce material line of balance and conduct clear to build assessments.
- Solid understanding of Material Planning principles and Plan for Every Part data management.
- Proven capacity to make independent decisions to achieve desired outcomes and drive necessary actions to completion.
- Proficient in MRP systems.
- Prior experience in aerospace or similar high-tech manufacturing sectors.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering schematics.
- Familiarity with AS9100 standards and US export regulations.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with a track record of meeting deadlines.
- Experienced in developing and delivering clear and concise proposals.
- Comfortable collaborating in a team-oriented environment.
- Self-motivated and proactive contributor.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business is preferred.
- High school diploma with 1-3 years of experience in Supply Chain management or a related field.
Physical Demands:
- Extended periods of sitting at a desk and utilizing a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
