Job Overview

LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a prominent organization in the Kansas City area to find a skilled Senior Accountant. This role entails overseeing various financial tasks to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Review and Analysis: Conduct thorough reviews of accounts payable and receipting entries, identifying any discrepancies or areas for improvement.
  • Invoice Management: Generate accounts receivable invoices as needed for designated units, ensuring timely payments and accurate tracking.
  • Complex Invoicing and Reimbursement: Process, code, and record complex invoices and reimbursement requests, following established accounting procedures.
  • Tax Compliance: File monthly sales tax returns for units as required, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Journal Entries and Reconciliations: Prepare and input journal entries in accordance with established accounting procedures, conducting bank account reconciliations for non-assigned locations.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare monthly financial statements for review by the Accounting Manager, ensuring completion by the 15th of each month.
  • Budgeting and Variance Analysis: Input annual and revised budgets for corps/units into accounting software, drafting written reviews of budget variances on a monthly and as needed basis.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain records in compliance with established Salvation Army policies and procedures.
Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is required. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Business administration and finance courses are desirable, as are courses in computer-based accounting.

The salary for this position is $60,000 - $65,000 per year. Benefits include health, dental, vision, PTO, and 401k.
