Our assets comprise approximately 50,000 miles of pipelines, 260 million barrels of storage capacity for various products, and 14 billion cubic feet of natural gas storage capacity.

The Area Operations Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe, environmentally responsible, and efficient operation and maintenance of all assets while adhering to both company and governmental regulations. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Formulating, executing, and overseeing strategies to manage operational expenses related to pipelines, plants, compressor stations, and other company assets, ensuring effective maintenance and operation.
  • Collaborating with maintenance, commercial teams, and others to establish annual operational budgets.
  • Setting safety, environmental, and operational objectives for the region and providing leadership to achieve these goals.
  • Leading a diverse, multi-skilled workforce to optimize operations and maintenance efforts.
  • Directing systems to manage emergency responses and repairs, minimizing potential liabilities while complying with company and regulatory guidelines.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with contractors, landowners, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders.
  • Working closely with Commercial, Distribution, and other stakeholders to determine and implement equipment needs, operational procedures, and policies for both new and existing business.
  • Continuously advocating for safety, customer awareness, efficiency, and effectiveness across all responsibilities.
  • Authorizing expenditures within defined limits, supporting staff needs, and addressing departmental issues.
  • Overseeing all employees within the operational area, ensuring effective direction, coordination, and evaluation of assets.
  • Promoting adherence to company procedures while striving for regional improvement.
  • Managing employee performance appraisals, rewards, disciplinary actions, and resolving complaints.
  • Identifying training, education, staffing, and operational excellence needs across the region.
  • Facilitating effective communication and teamwork across multiple disciplines within the area.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • A bachelor's or associate degree in technical fields related to Oil and Gas is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the oil and gas sector is essential.
  • Prior supervisory experience is necessary.
  • This role may require up to 50% travel.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills are required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to effectively engage with staff across all levels, are essential.
  • Proficiency in personal computers (PCs) and relevant software such as Outlook, Excel, and Word is required.
  • Capability to lead during emergency situations to ensure safe and effective responses is necessary.
  • Ability to adapt swiftly to changing circumstances and manage competing demands under pressure is required.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations governing pipeline safety is essential.
  • Familiarity with codes and standards applicable to pipeline design, construction, and operation is required.
  • In-depth understanding of safe work practices and procedures is necessary.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
