Job Description

At McAlister's Deli, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for directing and controlling restaurant operations to ensure a positive guest experience and company profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a High-Quality Operation: Maintain the highest standards of food quality, service, cleanliness, safety, and sanitation.
  • Maintain Controls: Monitor and control restaurant assets, inventory, and labor costs.
  • Manage Team Members: Hire, train, motivate, and evaluate team members to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
  • Advocate a Team Environment: Foster a culture of teamwork, respect, and open communication among team members.
  • Manage Personal Development: Provide effective leadership, develop personal goals, and maintain a professional attitude.
Requirements:
  • Aptitude: Professional oral and written communication skills, organizational and time management skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Experience: A minimum of five years of prior experience as an hourly team member, supervisor, or manager in a full-service, quick-casual, or fast-food high-volume restaurant.
  • Education: A two-year associate's degree or a bachelor's degree from a four-year college (desirable).
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-energy, and physically demanding environment.
  • Must have the stamina and ability to work 50 to 60 hours a week.
  • Must be able to spend 90% of working time standing and 10% sitting.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with guests in the primary language of the restaurant.
Travel Requirements:
  • May be required to travel for occasional deliveries, visits to other locations, or company meetings.
