Job SummaryThe Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing new prescriptions, managing resident profiles, and coordinating with other departments to ensure the customer's needs are met. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Main Responsibilities- Process new prescriptions received from facilities, manage resident profiles, and provide customer service
- Communicate with internal and external customers in a pleasant and professional manner
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure customer needs are met
- Assist with dispensing of prescriptions under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and in accordance with state pharmacy regulations
- Participate in the periodic inventory of the pharmacy
- May process returned medications from facilities for credit or destruction
- Assist in the training of new employees
- Escalate all concerns to the Pharmacy Manager immediately
- Assist other Pharmacy Technicians when needed
- Answer telephones and field questions accordingly
- Perform other tasks as assigned
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- Experience in a pharmacy and customer service setting
- Ability to operate a computer and recognize and identify medications
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Desired: Specialty pharmacy experience and experience with Specialty pharmacy software (QS1/PrimeRx preferred)
