Director of West Africa Regional Awards Strategy

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a global humanitarian organization that responds to the world's worst humanitarian crises. We are seeking an experienced Director of Awards Management to join our team in West Africa. As a member of our senior management team, you will be responsible for leading our awards management strategy and ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive awards management strategy for West Africa, ensuring alignment with IRC's global strategy and donor requirements.
- Lead a team of awards management professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure successful grant implementation and compliance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, country programs, and HQ stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to donors, including financial and narrative reports.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and guidelines for awards management, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and IRC's policies.
- Provide training and capacity building to country programs and HQ staff on awards management best practices.
- Collaborate with other senior managers to ensure alignment with IRC's global strategy and goals.

Requirements- At least 7-10 years of experience in awards management, preferably with a relief and development NGO or multilateral agency.
- International experience, especially in the region, preferred.
- Program and/or grants management experience with key donors, such as USAID, FCDO, European Union/ECHO, UN agencies, and others.
- Experience managing for donor compliance, proposal writing, budgeting, and representing implementers to donors.
- Proven ability to lead, manage, and develop teams, including staff working at a distance.
- Proven ability to manage multiple work streams and to coordinate across teams/functions.
- Excellent relationship-management skills with colleagues in country offices and HQ, senior stakeholders, and donors.
- Written and spoken fluency in English and French.
- Ability to travel internationally approximately 15% of the time.
