This role is essential in delivering exceptional customer service within the medical practice environment. The representative ensures that the highest standards of service are provided to patients and company representatives, both over the phone and in person, while also handling various administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:- Welcome patients upon arrival, collecting necessary information and conducting patient registration, including insurance verification and collection of co-pays and outstanding balances.
- Gather and update patient demographic and company information from all patients.
- Manage incoming calls and schedule appointments efficiently.
- Document and direct patient inquiries appropriately.
- Coordinate the scheduling of external testing for patients.
- Act as a liaison between patients and the practice.
- Provide support for appointment scheduling as needed.
- Conduct daily operations in a manner that promotes patient safety and confidentiality.
- Complete daily reconciliation reports to ensure accurate charge entry.
- Prepare patient charts for upcoming appointments and file completed records daily.
- File test and procedure results in patient medical records post-physician approval.
- Collaborate with company representatives or potential employees to ensure appropriate services are delivered.
- Review patient charts prior to appointments to confirm that consents are current and insurance information is up to date.
- Handle all medical record requests from patients, insurance providers, physician offices, and legal entities in accordance with established protocols.
Required:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
Experience in medical office coding and prior customer service or physician office experience.
