Drilling Operations Specialist

ConocoPhillips is seeking a highly skilled Drilling Engineer to support the priorities of the Well Support Center (WSC) by focusing on a single rig line to drive decisions, transfer engineered plans to execution, measure performance, and identify opportunities for optimization.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with Well Superintendents and field teams to achieve HSE targets by actively participating in town and field HSE processes.
- Ensure compliance with approved procedures, safety, environmental, and legislative requirements, and engage with regulatory bodies during well operations.
- Drive the transfer of engineered plans to actual execution in the field through the development, review, and approval of signed Section Plans, and clearly communicate with ops team members to set expectations for execution.
- Develop and implement plans to address deviations from approved drilling and completion procedures and section plans, and work with operations and engineering teams to resolve issues.
- Review operations forecasting with Rig Site Supervisor, support Rig Advisor and vendors to ensure logistics are in place, and set up and QC torque/drag and hydraulic models ahead of section execution.
- Lead Wells Surveillance and Analytics Technicians in monitoring and trend analysis, and work with them to execute operations roadmaps and monitor trends and deviations from plan.
- Perform final review of all MPD and hydraulics modeling, cementing modeling, and other vendor programs prior to execution, and capture weekly lessons learned and participate in event-based After Action Reviews.
- Examine performance and optimization opportunities in collaboration with Wells Engineering team and Well Surveillance and Analytics Technicians, and be responsible for regulatory body notifications during well operations.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering.
- Strong operational background, including exposure to various well operational activities.
- Current Well Control Certification.
