Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Biology Adjunct Faculty to join our team at Virginia Western Community College. As a part-time faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching college-level courses in biology to students in a dynamic and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach biology courses to students in a face-to-face or hybrid format
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and assessments to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Maintain currency in teaching disciplines and trends in community college education
  • Participate in departmental communication and contribute to the development of curriculum and assessments
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to students, colleagues, and other stakeholders
Requirements
  • Masters degree in Biology or a related field
  • At least 18 graduate semester hours in biology courses
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience teaching at the college level is preferred
