Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Biology Adjunct Faculty member to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a part-time instructor, you will be responsible for teaching college-level courses in biology to students on our main campus or in a hybrid format.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach biology courses to students in a face-to-face or hybrid format
  • Maintain currency in teaching disciplines and trends in community college education
  • Participate in departmental communication and contribute to the development of curriculum and assessments
  • Develop and implement effective learning strategies and evaluations
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Biology or a Master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Biology courses
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to write syllabi and exams, develop learning strategies, and work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorate degree in Biology
  • Teaching experience at the college level
