Restaurant Service Associate

Job Profile Summary:
The Restaurant Service Associate is responsible for providing exceptional service to guests from start to finish within the restaurant. This includes greeting, seating, and serving guests in a friendly, prompt, and professional manner. The ideal candidate will take food and beverage orders, prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and meals to guests, while maintaining a neat, clean, and safe work environment.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties include:
- Adhering to Platinum Management Services, LLC. and Brand specific standards.
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and ordinances as they apply to the property, guests, and departmental personnel.
- Anticipating and addressing guest service needs, assisting individuals with disabilities.
- Notifying management immediately of all incidents and injuries.
- Greeting guests and taking food and beverage orders, utilizing suggestive selling techniques.
- Maintaining complete knowledge of designated glassware and garnishes for each drink.
- Preparing and cooking food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.
- Operating ovens, stoves, grills, and microwaves, ensuring proper working order at all times.
- Ensuring accuracy of all food and beverage orders and presentation prior to serving.
- Serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with federal, state, and local requirements and regulations and Company and Brand standards.
- Routinely following up with guests to ensure their complete satisfaction throughout the meal/food and beverage experience.
- Removing trash, tidying lobby and service areas.
- Reviewing and following procedures on Brand and Company Energy Conservation Program and adhering to recycling policies and procedures if applicable.
- Receiving guest payments and processing transactions in accordance with Company policies and Brand standards.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- A food service permit or valid health/food handler card(s) and an alcohol awareness certification/ServSafe permit may be required in accordance with state and local government agencies, Company and Brand standards.
- Professional appearance and grooming must be adhered to at all times. Uniforms must be worn according to Company and Brand standards.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills required.
- Possess technical knowledge and aptitude. MICROS experience preferred.
- Must have knowledge of safe food handling, presentation, and serving methods.
- Practice workplace sanitation and overall cleanliness.
- Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
- Ability to attend and complete job and Brand training.
- Work at a pace consistent with changing business volume and demands.
- Stand for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance and objects in excess of 50 pounds with assistance.
- Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
- Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Must have knowledge of beer, wines, mixers, liquors, and non-alcoholic beverages and preparation methods.
- Previous experience preferred.
- High School Diploma preferred.
