Job Title: GSE Mechanic Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled GSE Mechanic Assistant to join our team at Daifuku Automotive America Corporation. As a GSE Mechanic Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our ground support equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist senior mechanics with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of ground support equipment and facilities.
  • Execute basic maintenance assignments involving automotive, electrical, systems, and other related trade skill sets.
  • Take direction and seek guidance from senior level mechanics, accepting training and mentoring as needed.
  • Read and interpret repair manuals, basic electrical and hydraulic schematics, and supervisor/manager's instructions.
  • Work in tight and/or high spaces, utilizing appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment.
  • Follow and comply with all company and federally established policies and procedures.
  • Utilize a computer to perform various communications, training, and administrative processes.
  • Complete forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures.
  • Complete all safety training as assigned by the Company.
  • Comply with all ELS safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties/assignments as required by management.
Requirements:
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Must have own set of hand tools common to the trade
  • Ability to work a non-traditional schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • 1 year previous experience as a mechanic in a heavy, medium, or light-duty environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous work experience in an Airport environment
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures related to equipment repair
  • Knowledge of general workplace safety requirements and procedures
  • Technical certification in automotive repair field

Computer Skills:

Basic computer knowledge. Ability to log in, retrieve, and answer emails and take training.

Other Requirements:
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport Security badge
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under the Company's insurance policy
  • Must be able to comply with the ELS Drug and Alcohol policy
