About the Role

The Medical Support Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our plasma center. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Donor Eligibility: Determine donor eligibility accurately and in a timely manner, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion.
  2. Donor Reaction Management: Evaluate and manage donor reactions that occur at the facility, following applicable SOPs.
  3. Donor Deferral: Manage donor deferral, reviewing test results and notifying donors of unsuitable test results per applicable SOPs.
  4. Post Donation Information: Initiate and investigate post donation information, referring to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Assist the EHS program as required, including conducting pre-placement evaluations of new hires and maintaining employee medical records.
  • Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees, as applicable.
  • Administer first aid to employees as needed and act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree from a recognized educational program and a minimum of two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting. A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
