Medical Assistant

Penn State Health is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing administrative and clinical support to our healthcare team. Your responsibilities will include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, and performing various clinical duties under the direction of a provider.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scheduling appointments and maintaining accurate patient records
- Performing administrative tasks, such as billing and coding information for insurance purposes
- Assisting with clinical duties, including taking vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, and administering medications as directed by a provider
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Must meet current eligibility to sit for the exam with attainment of certification or registration through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistants within 90 days of employment date or current active status as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistant certification required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
- Previous outpatient experience preferred
